Tuesdays with Dorie: Tarte Fine

9/28/10

This week's recipe was chosen by Leslie, of Lethally Delicious. If you have yet to visit her blog, please do so now. Her blog is filled with truly lethally delicious-looking recipes and pictures. Thank you so much for picking this, Leslie! Between myself and 4 others, it lasted about 30 minutes. Plus it was so easy to prepare, I was tempted to make it again.

All you need is puff pastry, a few apples, an egg, and a dash of cream. If you're not feeling ambitious, it's perfectly acceptable to use frozen puff pastry, I did, and I didn't feel at all guilty about it. This is the perfect way to ease yourself into the crisp autumn. I don't about you, but I'm not quite ready to tackle an apple pie, not while I'm still clinging onto shorts and flip-flops for dear life.

You can find the complete recipe on Leslie's gorgeous blog by clicking here.

it looks fantastic! I forgot to leave a border, so mine wasn't so puffy. No matter--it got eaten up quickly too. I hear you on the clinging to flip-flops business--I am sitting on the porch with socks on, watching red leaves fall, and hoping it warms up a bit soon.

Great job! Your tart is perfect! I'm with you on not quite being ready for summer to end, and this was a nice transitional dessert. I'm so glad you enjoyed this. Thanks for baking with me this week!

Hey Valerie, how did I miss this one?! It's in my sidebar, but, when I click on it, I go to the decorated cookies post-weird. Anyway, these look wonderful. I really wish I could have one now...;)
