I'm 31. That isn't old, right? Well, please tell that to my contact lens-ravaged eyes. Since I'm as near-sighted as Mr. Magoo, I tend to over wear my contacts to the point that I feel useless without them. Last week I spent 3 minutes talking through the bathroom mirror to what I thought was my cat.
Have you ever felt, for no apparent reason, as though something big was about to happen? I don't know why, but there seems to be something looming on the horizon. I say looming because I'm not sure yet if it's a good thing, the clouds are retaining a soft air of ominousity, but that could just be the over-thinking realist in me.
Thanks to a french father and an east coast mom, I can make almost-perfect dessert crêpes rolled up with lemon juice and sugar and a scrumptious butterscotch tart. But I never had the pleasure of learning how to make biscuits.
A huge Thank You to Nancy of the blog, The Dogs Eat the Crumbs, for hosting this weeks Tuesdays with Dorie. I think a lot of us have been waiting patiently for someone to chose this recipe. Why? Because of Dorie Greenspan's mouthwatering description.
This is going to be a pseudo Tuesdays with Dorie post. The actual recipe was supposed to be a Coconut Tea Cake but at the last minute I realized that I didn't have any coconut milk, and I was out of rum (I plead the fifth on that one.)
