Cinnamon and Plum-Tea Madeleines (Tuedays with Dorie)
December 13, 2011
This Tuesdays with Dorie recipe was actually one of last week's Tuesdays with Dorie recipes. (The other was a honey almond fig tart.) This week's recipe options include ice cream and plums. Confused? Probably not. I am. But I didn't have any coffee today (my default excuse for everything lately).
As is you can tell by the photos, my cookies had some issues with the pan. But despite their spotty appearance, they had a lovely taste. Dorie's original recipe actually calls for earl grey tea, but I decided to put some of my old(er) teas to use. The cinnamon and plum flavours were detectable, but sweetly subtle. I think these would be delicious with just about any kind of tea. You can find the complete recipe on Nicole's blog, Bakeologie.
For this week's recipes, please check out Laurie, of Slush, who chose chocolate blueberry ice cream. And Julie, of Someone's in the Kitchen, who picked a puffed double plum tart. Incidentally, Laurie is the genius behind Tuesdays with Dorie, so please be sure to thank her for all the work she put into the group over the years! ♥

They still tasted fabulous, right? Sorry you had trouble with the pan, Valerie, but I love the idea of cinnamon and plum tea. Makes them holiday-perfect.
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful even if you've had issues with the pan... I come across similar problems too when I make Madeleines.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Rosa
Ciao cara Valerie ! Lovely choice ! Mine stuck even in a silicon mold... Baci
ReplyDeleteThese look really good, despite the issues you had with the pan! I love the idea of cinnamon and plum madeleines, perfect for the holidays most definitely.
ReplyDeleteI heart Madeleines! I was thinking of baking goodies for friends this christmas in lieu of gifts. This recipe will definitely go into my arsenal! I love Dorie Greenspan's cookbooks, by the way. I find them very reliable.
ReplyDeleteC'est toujours un véritable plaisir que de déguster des Madeleines
ReplyDeleteJe te souhaite une belle journée
Valérie
I'm picturing these with a nice chai tea, and I think I'd love them. And yes, I am slightly confused by the recipes you mentioned, but I haven't had a coffee yet either.
ReplyDeleteNice! I must remember to use tea more in my baking, as there are just so many flavours. If Santa brings me a madeleine pan I'm all set!
ReplyDeletelook delicious:)
